Jennifer Pharr Davis, AT Record Holder, on January 25


Jennifer Pharr Davis, the unofficial record-holder for the fastest thru hike of the Appalachian Trail, will be at Brasington's Adventure Outfitters on January 25, 2014! Davis's record time of covering the AT's 2,181 miles in 46 days, 11 hours, and 20 minutes was set on July 31, 2011 – an average of 46.9 miles per day.

On January 25, Jennifer will give a presentation at Brasington's about her experiences hiking long-distance trails, including the Appalachian and Pacific Crest Trails, and her passion for helping other people get outdoors experiencing the wilderness.

In 2008, Jennifer was named Blue Ridge Outdoors Person of the Year. In 2011, Jennifer appeared in the Sunday edition of the The New York Times, and on national television and radio shows such as CNN News , the CBS Early Show, and NPR’s Talk of the Nation. She was also named a National Geographic Adventurer of the Year and voted UltraRunning Magazine's top female performance of 2011. Jennifer has also authored four books, including three North Carolina guidebooks and her hiking memoirs, "Becoming Odyssa" and "Called Again." She opened Blue Ridge Hiking Coin North Carolina five years ago.
