Last year, Delany Dean, Jane Goddard, and Debbie LaFreniere kayaked down the St. Johns River from Lake Monroe in Sanford to the Atlantic Ocean in Jacksonville in 13 days.
On Saturday, April 26, they will present an open workshop on their epic river adventure right here at Brasington's Adventure Outfitters!
The group traveled to highlight the role the St. Johns plays in supporting both Central Florida's economy and vibrant cultural heritage. They will discuss preparing for the trip, navigating the waters of the St. Johns, and the challenges and rewards of this once-in-a-lifetime journey. Don't miss out!
Russ and Peg Hall are authors and hikers who have walked sections of the Camino de Santiago (The Way of St. James) in France and Spain five times since 2008. They spoke about their journey at Brasington's Adventure Outfitters on Saturday, March 1 at 10:00 at an in-depth workshop.
This workshop provided practical information needed to plan a hike on the Camino's 1,000-year-old pilgrimage trail:
- What, and where, is the Camino? Who hikes it?
- What must you carry? Where do you stay, and eat?
- How much does it cost? Why might you want to hike it?
- What are the challenges, and rewards?
